An amazing interactive kids digital picture book! This timeless tale, based on legendary singer/songwriter Tom Paxton’s classic song, is about a mysterious, magical toy given by a father to his son, one that eventually gets passed down to his son’s son. The story celebrates a child’s sense of wonder. The witty, evocative lyrics spark your imagination: “It went Zip! when it moved, Bop! when it stopped, and Whirr! when it stood still!” The incredible and wildly imaginative illustrations lift the story to a whole new level. And now, MobiStories literally bring the song and almost everything on the page to life with a simple touch of your finger! The toy shines, spins and makes funny noises, UFOs fly around, trucks move back and forth, characters speak! Even the song has been given a light-hearted 21st century makeover!
Listen to, sing along and read the lyrics on each page, then play as long as you want finding the magic hidden within the pictures while enjoying the instrumental version of the song. When you’re done, swipe to zip to the next page! Makes a great digital childrens book gift for Christmas, holiday or birthday!

This book was fantastic!! I don’t have kids in the age range but I do babysit a friends child that’s 4 from time to time. I sat her down on my lap with the computer and started the book. She was mesmerized and didn’t even squirm once and usually I can’t get her to sit still for even a few minutes. Now she gets bored with things and asks for the “Marvelous Toy game” on my computer and she will sit there for hours going over and over and over every aspect of the story. I definitely would recommend this for anyone with small kids.
My son loves this book and will enjoy this animation. It’s such a cute story. He’s 3 and can sing almost the whole book – it’s a lot of fun and beautifully done.
I thought it was cute but my 6 year old son was not interested, I asked him if he liked it and it said it was boring. Maybe the age recommendation should be adjusted to a younger age.
I watched this twice with my five year old daughter tonight. I liked to move the story along so the song tune continued, but my daughter would rather click on the different parts of the story to see what each thing would do. This is a sweet story. For younger kiddos, the sounds made by the “Marvelous Toy” when you click on it might be kind of scary. Overall, this is a really neat product and a neat concept in general. Thanks!
This is a ‘marvelous’ story. I enjoyed it very much. Wish I had a grandchild in the proper age catagory. My youngest is 15 months, and the older ones are teens and above. I might subscribe when the little one gets older. How fun!! Amazing pictures, wonderful music, great story. Wish the writing was larger for “reading along”.

I think in this day and age, getting children to read books is more of a chore than a treat. TV throws alot of colour and flashes at us all and it makes books seem boring to the average reader. Yet somehow when the book is transcribed into digital form, it seems more and more interesting than its hardbound relative. In that regard, The Marvelous Toy could possibly bridge the gap from TV’s overstimulus to books understimulus. And that is why i am interested and applauding this product.
My girls will absolutely flip for this book. If I’m enthralled I can only imagine what they will feel. I have 3 girls, 2, 5, and 7 so this will be a hit with all 3. Awesome!!!

LOVED IT!!!
Can’t wait to show my grandkids.
Wonderful for all ages.
As a reading teacher, this “marvelous toy” appears to be a great tool to encourage reading.
The marvelous toy sounds like a inavative way to get your kids to read. I think my four year old would love it.
While I think that this is a great idea my children have gotten too old to enjoy anything like this.
I like the idea, there are so many children who love being read to but some parents just dont have time so this would be great for them . i also feel using regular books should also be offered to children so they can learn to read ..
This is great our granddaughter (19 months) loves it, We have sung this to her from a baby so its nice for her to be able to have the pictures to relate to it.
