2055 Lyrics – Sleepy Hallow

2055 – Wanna slide
Like it’s 2055, huh
I just wanna ride (Great John on the beat by the way)
Like it’s 2055, huh
Huh, huh, huh

I just wanna slide, huh
Parties in the sky like it’s 2055, huh
She said, “Boy you nice, boy you nice”, huh
Heart cold like some water and some ice, huh

Why would you sacrifice, huh
Knowing you could die? Ain’t nobody by your side, huh
I know niggas cap (cap), and bitches lie
Came from dirt, can’t go back, you could see it in my eyes, huh
Real niggas cry blood (blood), hope my kid never try drugs, huh
All I wanted was some love, would trade that for a gun, huh
Big pack on me now, ‘member back then I was fucked up, huh
I don’t really want friends, everybody fake, I don’t got trust, but

I just wanna slide, huh
Parties in the sky like it’s 2055, huh
She said, “Boy you nice, boy you nice”, huh
Heart cold like some water and some ice (water and some ice, water and some ice)
I just wanna slide, huh
Parties in the sky like it’s 2055, huh
She said, “Boy you nice, boy you nice”, huh
Heart cold like some water and some ice

Shawty get energized, huh, livin’ life
Spilled some liquor on her inner thigh, but she ain’t tired
She just turn it up, huh, I could get you brushed, huh
ZaZa got me stuck, sorry I can’t open up
Fuck it, we tried (huh), gotta compromise (huh)
He want beef with gang, but he don’t know it come with fries (huh)
That’s AKs and Nines (huh), please don’t play with mines (huh)
My body different, I know they love that line but

I just wanna slide, huh
Parties in the sky like it’s 2055, huh
She said, “Boy you nice, boy you nice”, huh
Heart cold like some water and some ice (water and some ice, water and some ice)

About Sleepy Hallow

Originally from Jamaica, Sleepy Hallow has made his mark as a local rapper, songwriter and producer. Since the emergence of his first single, “Disrespect” (July 2017), Sleepy Hallow has also released two more singles included in his debut album, “Haters Hurtin” (August 2017). They were at the forefront of Brooklyn’s emerging drill scene as their early material reconfigured the British drill beats of AXL and MKthePlug within a New York context, whilst adding local English slang and alternate flows to the British-style drilling beats. Performing with DoubleG, they released their first hit single, “Panic,” the first of a series of memorable tracks. “Saucin” and “Glocc wit a Sticc” ended 2017, with Sleepy and Sheff collaborating again in January for “Attic,” followed shortly by a second “Panic” album. While building his brand on bassy vocals and brutal imagery, the rapper released a mix of solo and Sheff G-assisted singles in 2018, with the trio’s third release becoming their biggest hit.

His “Panic” set of singles, a pioneer in Brooklyn’s drill scene, pushed the genre’s sonics forward along with collaborator Sheff G, and made a name for himself as a drill pioneer. With his 2020 single “Deep End Freestyle,” and his expanded production and songwriting on Still Sleep, he broke into mainstream audiences and chart success. Years later, with “Die Young,” he broke into mainstream audiences and chart success.

He appeared seven times on Sheff’s debut, The Unlucky Luccky Kid, before issuing his debut mixtape, Don’t Sleep. Sleepy will release a second full-length project in 2020. Both tapes retained the duo’s charisma and signature flows, though they veered significantly from drill roots, landing more on the trap side instead. His 2020 offerings ranged from guitar-driven introspection to experimental drill, despite still being primarily focused on trap. “Deep End Freestyle,” a minimal track that found global success thanks to its use in viral videos, became his biggest hit. After the song gained newfound attention, Sleepy Hallow signed with RCA.

Having now signed to a major label, Sleepy began writing his first studio album. In addition to the hit single “2055”, his debut album, Still Sleep? arrived in June 2021, boasting enhanced production and technology that went beyond the standard drill elements. It also reached number 16 on the Billboard 200 and became a gold record. In 2022, Sleepy teamed up with 347Aiden for “Die Young.” The track appeared on Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs chart.
