Tere Bin Nahi lagda Dil Mera Dholna Lyrics

Mmmm… hmmmm…

O re piya
Main taan tere layi
Sau raatan jagun
Jithe jaavein tu
Othey jaave dil
Dass ki main karun

Jo tu russ jaani ae
Dil yeh tutt jaani ae
Tere sang sang raah
Saari katt jaani ae (x2)

Main taan tere naal rehna
Maan enna mera kehna
Meri akhiyon se hona kadi door naa..
Tere bin… tere bin…

Tere bin nai lagda dil mera dholna
Tere bin nai lagda dil mera dholna
Sab chhad jayein tu na mainu chhodna
Tere bin nai lagda dil mera dholna

Nahi lagda, nahi lagda, nahi lagda
Ho.. nai lagda, nai lagda, nai lagda

Tere sang-sang reh ke
Main rang jaaun tere rang
Teri neend se khwaab main apna jod loon
Tu sath na ho to char kadam na chal paaun
Teri raah pe raah main apni mod doon

Ho.. jag bhull jaaye mujhe
Tum nahi bhoolna
Tere sang jeena mera
Tere sang dhalna
Sacchi chaahaton ka hota koi mol na
Tere bin… Tere bin…

Tere bin nahi lagda dil mera dholna
Ke tere bin nahi lagda dil mera dholna
Sab chadd jayein tu na mainu chhodna
Ke tere bin nahi lagda dil mera dholna

Jaaniya… haaniya…
Tu vi sikh kadi dukh sukh pholna
Tere bin nahi lagda dil mera dholna
Tere bin nahi lagda dil mera dholna
Sab chadd jayein tu na mainu chhodna
Tere bin nahi lagda dil mera dholna

About Rahat Fateh Ali Khan

Tutored in qawwali music by his uncle at birth, Rahat Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was born in Faisalabad, Pakistan. The young Rahat started singing with his uncle and father, another respected qawwali singer, at the age of three. When Rahat was six, he began formal training with his uncle. The group he joined was officially known as Rahat’s uncle’s group by the age of 15.

Besides singing on a variety of recordings, Rahat Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan has also performed with Eddie Vedder during Tim Robbins’ Dead Man Walking Concert. Throughout the world, he and his band continue to entertain audiences. It is his U.S. debut album on American Recordings that Rahat Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan released under his own name. These four tracks were recorded in Santa Monica, CA, and are emotionally charged and performed with a high level of skill. Rahat’s already powerful sounds are boosted by Rick Rubin, the producer behind Red Hot Chili Peppers and Beastie Boys.

The Qawalli Life of Rahat

The art of qawawali and its mystically imbued message are what interests Rahat most, as well as playing with Western pop musicians and recording records in state-of-the-art studios. It is a message that is not only music, but it was created by Sufis, and once we compose and practice it, it is forever. Other music comes and goes, but qawwali never goes. Once you listen to this music, you become more human because it goes in your soul, your spirit. My future is to fulfill Nusrat’s wish to share this message with the world. I feel that this music is my duty.

In Indian and Pakistani Sufism, Qawwali music has origins dating back more than 700 years. Song-of-praise and extolling Islamic virtues, Qawwali songs extol Allah’s grace. By listening ritualistically to Qawwali, a person is able to raise their spiritual awareness. Performing and audience members alike are touched by the transcendent nature of this piece’s poetic lyrics, along with its vivacious musical base and Sama’s participatory act. It is hard to deny that Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan remains the most popular qawwali singer of all time. He left the qawwali world more than six weeks after his death in 1997, to be succeeded by his nephew Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. As a traditional gesture of respect for his master, Rahat adopted Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s first name and became the new leader of the group.
